Looking to get rid of some of that nightstand clutter? Check out Sharadha's Bedside Organization DIY tutorial!
Pencil / chalk (https://amzn.to/2PL3fKL)
Draw measurements on paper
87” x 30”
This is meant for a double size bed, which measures approx 53” wide. So if you’re doing this for a different sized bed, adjust accordingly.
Add 6” for material to hang over bed, plus an additional 11” for the pouches.
This goes on both sides, so double those measurements.
Cut main base piece:
87” x 30”
Cut pouch pieces
11” x 30”
6” x 30”
Finish the top edge of the pouch pieces with a zig zag stitch.
Lay them on top of each other, match the ends up. Take a cup, place a the corner, trace the ends and trim. This will give a nice even rounded look.
Working with just the pouch pieces, stitch 3 lines that are 7.5” apart to create 4 even small pouches
Lay this piece on the base, matching ends together. Pin in place. Now let’s stitch over our middle seam to the top.
Using 5” seam allowance, stitch all the pieces together.
To finish the edges nicely, zig zag all the way around.
